Wine Enthusiast: Pressed blue flower, ripe black-skinned berry, baking spice, tobacco and leather aromas come together on this round, full-bodied wine. The delicious palate offers juicy wild cherry, raspberry jam, vanilla, cinnamon and licorice while pliant, velvety tannins offer elegant support. It deftly combines power and finesse. Drink through 2024.

Wine Spectator: Refined and creamy, this ripples with flavors of raspberry pâte de fruit, mocha, smoke-tinged mineral and fig cake. Beautifully balanced, with silky tannins and delicate threads of fragrant herb and spice that wind through the wine and linger on the rich finish. Drink now through 2029.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Intense garnet red.Perfume of ripe fruits with a hint of small red berries blending into each other in a sweet vanilla flavoured note, lightly spicy with nutmeg. Full bodied and warm on the palate, soft and perfectly balanced
Production Notes
Vineyards are 40 years old on average and grow with the traditional Veronese Pergola system. The grapes are carefully hand selected and then placed into the traditional wooden plateaux.
Winemaker Notes
The grapes are left to rest on the plateaux for 120 days with consequent drying and concentration of all the elements. The wine making takes place with the greatest respect for the grapes using a combination of traditional and innovative techniques. The grapes are de-stemmed and soft pressed in January. A maceration of 25 days follows with daily periodic pump overs. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.
Food Pairing Notes
Traditionally enjoyed with game, roasted and grilled meats, casseroles and well matured cheeses. Amarone's distintive flavour compliments exotic sweet and sour dishes and is perfect also with Asian and middle eastern dishes.
