An intense aroma, an unmistakable scent, and its rich and full bodied flavor characterize Oscietra Classic. It has firm, large-grained pearls (2.7 mm – 3.0 mm), dark grey, dark brown and sometimes black in color. The membrane is usually firm and the texture is succulent with dark bronze hues. The intensity of the nutty and buttery notes tend to grow more intense as the caviar mature. Originated by the Acipenser Gueldenstaedtii, this was historically the most popular caviar for its taste. This caviar is exquisite atop blinis, mashed potatoes, oat cakes or unsalted water crackers. All our caviar is fresh (not pasteurized) with a 3-month shelf life, if unopened. Once opened, it is recommended consuming the caviar as soon as possible within 24 hours as off flavors can develop with exposure to air. Each tin has an expiration date on the bottom.
