These elegant, long slabs of rustic crackers are what made Mario Fongo famous back in 1993. Only the simplest, purest ingredients: 100% Italian wheat, 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, fresh yeast, and salt combined and baked in the Fongo family's "laboratory" outside Asti, Italy. The dough is machine cut but each "tongue" is then formed and crafted by hand, then baked to crispy perfection and sealed as soon as possible for maximum freshness. Excellent alone as a tasty alternative to bread, amazing when served with any ingredients of your choice, sophisticated as an aperitif accompaniment, with salted meats, salami, cheese and a fine glass of wine.
