Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto comes from bush-trained Primitivo wines that the Chiaromonte family has cultivated for three generations, featuring intense color, aromas, and the distinctive flavors of the land in every glass. This wine has notes of plum, blackberry and spices: a great Primitivo!

The grapes are destemmed, then fed by gravity into tanks were they are left to ferment in whole clusters with their own yeasts before they are crushed in hand-cranks presses.
Serving temperature: 62-68ºF
The high altitudes give the wines great freshness and the particular soils composed of red, iron-rich limestone soils, Gioia del Colle produces big wines that maintain outstanding balance, minerality, nuance, purity and complexity and is truly the source for the best Primitivos.
Bush-trained in the ancient, free-standing style known as alberello. As of 2009, all of the vineyards are certified organic.
