Podere San Cristoforo Amaranto DOC 2015
Made with 100% Sangiovese, this straightforward red has subdued aromas of red berry, toasted oak and a whiff of blue flower. Amaranto shows tangy palate, zesty acidity and round tannins underscore sour cherry, fresh raspberry and white pepper.
Maremma Toscana DOC

7 days in Steel, malolactic fermentation and then 10 months in French Barriques.
Serving temperature: 59-65 °F
Amaranto, is an "experimental " Podere San Cristoforo wine. Made up of 100% grapes that are picked when fully ripe. Amaranto is interesting because it shows that the Sangiovese variety can produce very different wines depending on the techniques used and the way the grapes are managed.
Food Pairing Notes
It goes very well with grilled meats and with carpaccio. Aged when it develops all its finesse, it is ideal for game dishes and roasts. But since the palate it is light and fresh is almost perfect also as a fish wine.
